I was just an ordinary person.
I had no special abilities or talents.
I was just a regular guy, going to work, hanging out with friends, and doing all the things that regular people do.
At least, that’s what I thought.
But then one day, everything changed.
It happened so suddenly, I didn’t even have time to process it before it was over.
One minute, I was walking down the street, minding my own business.
The next, I heard a loud crash and looked up to see a car careening out of control toward me.
There was no time to get out of the way.
I was going to be crushed.
But then something strange happened.
Somehow, I found the strength to push the car away from me.
I stood there in shock, staring at the car I had just pushed away.
My heart pounded in my chest like a drum.
People around me gasped and murmured, their faces a mix of awe and fear.
"Jack!" Sarah's voice cut through the noise as she rushed to my side.
Her eyes were wide with concern and curiosity.
"Are you okay?" she asked, grabbing my arm.
I looked down at my trembling hands, trying to comprehend what had just happened.
"I... I think so," I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Thomas approaching, his expression a blend of skepticism and intrigue.
"What the hell was that, Jack?" he demanded, stopping a few feet away from us.
"I don't know," I replied, shaking my head. "It just... happened."
Sarah glanced between Thomas and me, her brow furrowed in thought.
"We need to figure this out," she said firmly. "Maybe we should go back to the research facility where it all started."
I nodded slowly, realizing she was right.
We needed answers.
"Yeah," I agreed. "Let's go."
Thomas crossed his arms over his chest, his eyes narrowing.
"I'm coming with you," he said. "This is too big to ignore."
I hesitated for a moment but then nodded again.
"Fine," I said. "Let's get moving."
We made our way to Sarah's car, the crowd parting to let us through.
As we drove toward the research facility, my mind raced with questions.
What had happened to me?
How had I found the strength to push that car away?
And most importantly, what did it mean for my future?
The research facility loomed ahead of us, its stark white walls gleaming in the afternoon sun.
We parked and hurried inside, the sterile smell of disinfectant hitting us as we entered.
Dr. Reynolds was waiting for us in the lobby, her face a mask of professional calm.
"Jack," she greeted me with a nod. "Sarah told me what happened."
I swallowed hard, feeling a surge of adrenaline and fear.
"Do you have any idea what's going on?" I asked her.
Dr. Reynolds motioned for us to follow her down a long hallway lined with doors.
"We've been studying some unusual phenomena here," she explained as we walked. "But nothing like this."
She led us into a small lab filled with monitors and equipment that hummed softly.
"Sit down," she instructed, pointing to a chair in the center of the room.
I obeyed, feeling a strange mix of apprehension and curiosity.
Dr. Reynolds attached electrodes to my temples and began typing on a nearby keyboard.
"We're going to run some tests," she said. "Try to relax."
Easier said than done, I thought as I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.
The hum of machinery grew louder as the tests began, filling the room with an almost hypnotic rhythm.
Minutes passed like hours until finally Dr. Reynolds spoke again.
"Jack," she said softly. "You might want to see this."
I opened my eyes and looked at the monitor she was pointing to.
My jaw dropped in disbelief at what I saw.
Before I could fully process it, an alarm blared throughout the facility.
Red lights flashed ominously as Dr. Reynolds' face paled with sudden realization.
"We have to get out of here!" she shouted over the noise.

I still remember the day I got my powers.
It was a sunny day and I was on my way to the park to meet Sarah and Thomas.
I had a crush on Sarah for years, but she never showed any interest in me.
Thomas, on the other hand, was my rival.
He was the star of the school's basketball team and he always got the girl.
But that day, everything changed.
As I was walking to the park, I heard a loud screech and then a car came speeding towards me.
I didn't have time to react and I was sure that I was going to die.
But then something strange happened.
Time seemed to slow down.
I could see every detail of the car, the terrified look on the driver's face, and the glint of sunlight off the windshield.
My heart pounded in my chest, and I felt a surge of energy course through my veins.
Instinctively, I thrust my hands out in front of me.
To my astonishment, the car stopped inches from my face, as if hitting an invisible wall.
The force of it sent me stumbling back, but I remained unharmed.
The car crumpled like a soda can, its front end smashed beyond recognition.
I stood there, breathing heavily, trying to comprehend what had just happened.
People around me gasped and murmured in shock.
"Jack!" I heard Sarah's voice cut through the chaos.
She rushed over, her eyes wide with concern.
"Are you okay?" she asked, grabbing my arm and looking me over for injuries.
"I... I think so," I stammered, still trembling from the adrenaline rush.
Thomas was right behind her, his expression a mix of skepticism and curiosity.
"What the hell was that?" he demanded, his eyes narrowing at me.
"I don't know," I replied honestly, shaking my head in disbelief. "I really don't know."
Sarah glanced between us, her brow furrowed in thought. "We need to figure this out," she said firmly. "Maybe we should go to the research facility. They might have some answers."
Thomas nodded slowly, still eyeing me warily. "Yeah, let's do that."
We made our way to Sarah's car, and I climbed into the backseat while Thomas took the passenger seat up front.
As we drove to the facility, my mind raced with questions. What had just happened? How had I stopped that car? And why now?
The research facility loomed ahead, a stark contrast to the sunny day outside. We parked and hurried inside, where Dr. Reynolds greeted us with a puzzled look.
"What's going on?" he asked as we explained the situation in hurried whispers.
Dr. Reynolds led us to a lab and began running tests on me. Electrodes were attached to my skin, and machines hummed around us.
Suddenly, alarms blared throughout the facility. Red lights flashed ominously as Dr. Reynolds' face turned pale.
"What's happening?" Sarah shouted over the noise.
